Anybody any idea on this prob,just in the process of fitting a towbar to the 96 Disco i picked up on Monday when the rear door has decided not to open,seems to be unlocking ok just not opening with either exterior or internal handle.cheers

Common problem, take the LR badge off the door handle and spray with WD40, should be ok, if not you may need to change the spring.

as hughie says, but look for land rover door springs on flea bay (that is if the wd40 in the land rover badge don't work of coarse)
just ordered a full set today for 15 quid

I had same problem so replaced lock spring with one from ebay. Put it all back together and now it won't open at all. - Anyone got a picture / diagram of how all the rods and linkages fit together please?

Have you tried poping out the badge and working some grease into the handle workings that sorted mine, and i did have to put a spring on the workings to stop the lock droping..

I cut a big dollop of plastic out of the lower ledge on my door handle cover so that it was easy to prise the latch towards the door, and then engage the lock insides.

Works fine now, but it still gets lots of WD40 anyway.
