they are repairable, I did quite a detailed thread on here about it.
long and the short is:
get all the bits together, cleaned up, no grease etc
use superglue to glue them back together, as superglue has quick grab but little strength in this application
once superglue dried good and proper, rub down with fine sandpaper / emery cloth, then slather it with araldite (after wiping with meths or similar), which will provide strength to the joint(s)
smashed mine to pieces about 2 years ago in an unlit underground car park. picked up all the pieces, glued it all back, been as good as gold now.
