Just asking for info on the rear tailgate damper...?
Ok to open but you need to be the incredible hulk to open it fully.
Is it just the damper needs replacing ?

Disconect it , that will show if you if it need a new one !

Yes thank you...i have tried lubing hinges but still need a gorilla to open it...Does the damper aid pressure to open the door as the door plus spare wheel is some weight ?

I had the same problem, did loosen the damper, and the door opened/closed fine without to much effort. Bought a new damper, now it's difficult to close again... Hinges are oiled and everything, might have something to do with the slide mechanism. Just don't get it, since the door was fine without the damper mounted... Does a new damper have to "settle in"?
