have had my 2003 td5 for two weeks now and have done all the basic husbandry jobs, but i cant stop the rear door clicking when i open and close it.

i have lubed the hinges and the strap at its pivot and runner under the door.

any suggestions please ?

Don't open the rear door. All discos I've opened the rear door on do this (my disco1 and 2 people I know with disco2s). Something to do with the door holding itself open at one or two points as you open it.

sounds good enough an excuse to me.
just thought that there might be something i could loosen or tighten with my big spanners

no its not that bad.
it just made me think that the metal strap was loose.
this happened on an older car of mine on the drivers door. sounds very similar.

not overly concerned now due to feedback.
think i am being a bit over cautious as it is my first second hand car.
