Hi
I'm new to the forum. I have a 1995 Range rover 4.0 petrol which has various electrical issues.

I'm a mechanic and the systems on the car have me baffled, so I downloaded Rave but it doesn't work.

Am I doing something wrong?

Autorun tells me to go to the welcome PDF when I do this all it gives me is another web address. I've just spent 2 hours downloading Rave and it's directing me to another site. Is this right or am I doing something wrong?

Please Help!!!!

The download is likely to be an ISO file, it will need to be mounted and turned into a readable format using a program like alcohol120% for example which can also be downloaded free.

I use Daemon Tools Lite DAEMON Tools Lite :: Products :: DAEMON-Tools.cc to mount .iso files.

Or you can burn the disk image contained in the .iso file (not the .iso file itself) to a CD / DVD and run it from there.

Welcome to the site, Rave take time to understand and find your way around. Do as the others have suggested and burn the iso file it to disc.
Also it may help with future questions if you edit your "user CP" and state your "Location" as someone maybe local to you who may help or have specialised equipment.

one problem though. I do cars not computers, how do I separate the files from the .iso files.

Also have updated my user cp with me location.

You have two options:
1. If your computer is able to write CD's and/or DVD's start the relevant program and direct it to use the ISO file you downloaded to write the CD. Then run RAVE from the CD.
2. Alternatively, you can download free programs (mentioned above - search for them on Google and download and install them to your computer). These programs create and imaginary CD drive on your computer and you 'mount' the ISO program there (it is 'virtual' CD burning). Once mounted, it appears as an extra Drive on your computer (your main Hard Drive is usually designated with the letter C:, this might have D: or E: or F: for example). You then use that Drive to run RAVE.

If you know anyone who has some knowledge of computers they can help you do it without any knowledge of RAVE - like you say, it's a computer thing rather than a car thing

You can't just access the files from the ISO file without going through either of the processes above; they are locked into the ISO file and need to be released in the proper way.

Well said mate - just what I would have typed had I not got a hangover!

But just to be clear.... to create the CD, you need to use the 'create disk image' setting in the disk burning software, not just burn the .iso file to the CD.
