Hello you wounderful people

My td5 has developed a rattle well more like a vibration

Its coming from the transfer box gear stick thingy, its really starting to do my head in now.

If i put the slightest bit of pressure on the gear stick it stops, the box itself works fine selects everything it should but does feel a slack as if the gates are loose if that makes any sense.
The discos ive had the transfer box has always felt tight selecting low range and diff lock ect...

Any ideas on what this could be??

Somethings coming loose

Turn yer stereo up

Check the engine and gearbox mounts.

It wont go any louder thats why i thought it best to ask the question.

Get underneath and give everything a good shake, gear box mounts as has been said, but look elsewhere too cos sound does have a tendancy to travel abit

T'was the gear linkage.... WD40 rattle now gone :clap2:

WD40, Gaffer Tape or a large hammer normally works

Theres little plastic bushs on the tfer box lever that wear out cost about 50 pence each.

were is that lynall
The linkage all looked loose as well but i guess thats how its ment to be so it moves freely?

Was expecting the worse with the transfer box to be honest, but all seems now ok thank you WD40!!!
And the knocking when chaging gears has stopped, which is strange because this has been doing my head in as well for ages, couldnt find the source of it checked everything uj's prop spent bloody hours checking as well....
But all ok for the time being..... or am i just asking for problems now ive said that...

Does anyone elses landy have mood swings mines running ok at the mo and is really behaving, but sometimes it runs and behaves like a right bitch...
