i have a p38 4.6 hse, and has just started knocking when driving seems to be coming form transmission and feels like its slipping, also does it in park but not neutral any ideas??????

it makes a knocking noise in park?have you selected park while truck still moving if only slightly ?check oil colour and torque convertor bolts and drive plate around bolts

yes when the engine is running in park and in drive theres this constant knocking and feels like the tranny is slipping slightly but in neutral theres no noise, i have only recently purchased it and it has been driving fine, i havent selected park whilst it s moving!!

how do i check torque converter bolts etc is there a plate i can remove?

yes there is a plate ,13mm socket for tc bolts, does park hold car ?

only because knocking id think was likely to be drive plate /tc or broken park wheel or broken epicyclic hub

both apart from epicylic hub as its in the middle of box and requires stripping box
