Hi all,
Right the old girl has developed yet another fault. I did an oil and filter change and replaced the inlet manifold gaskets and glow plugs the other night. As it was only 3 months since the last oil change I used a vacuum pump to empty the sums so no removal of the sump plug. I drive to work now and have found a pool of oil from directly under the engine 2 days in a row. I can't see anything and am puzzled. I jet washed the underside lastnight to clean it all off then yet again another puddle today?

Its directly under where the sump plug would be but i can't see any run marks.

Ideas? could i have disturbed something when changing the inlet gaskets?

I'm not sure why you would use a vacuum pump rather than removing the sump drain plug, but that's beside the point.

Did you definitely use the correct oil filter, replace the o-ring on the cap, and ensure it was properly tightened again?

It's more likely to be a leak from around your oil filter than anywhere else, unless you disturbed any corroded pipes at the same time.

If you have oil leaking from the inlet manifold, you have bigger problems than a stained driveway!
