HELLO
JUST JOINED THIS CLUB AFTER INHERITING A RANGE ROVER CLASSIC, FROM MY FATHER WHO PASSED AWAY RECENTLY.
IT'S A K' REG 4DR CLASSIC DIESEL 110K,
I'M JUST WONDERING, IS IT POSSIBLE OR RELITIVELY EASY TO SWAP THE DIESEL ENGINE FOR A V8 PETROL?

I would not change the engine if it’s an original tdi.

What's the reason for not changing Diesel to Petrol?
I'm not sure if it is an original TDi.
How do I check?

it’s worth more standard than butchered up.
You need to check the build register/Range Rover register to find the info.

A modified to V8 is not the same as a V8 your insurance will tell you that.
TD is more precious imo

first off Welcome

What does the V5 say?
Have you checked the Vin number it should give a clue.

As a RRC in good “as built” from what I can see it didn’t get diesel till after, so it may have been a V8 (fine with me)

You need to research a bit.

Should have said to answer your question putting in a v8 is possible as all the bits are available.

diesel didn’t appear until mid 80s it seems.

Welcome to the forum

The vm diesel started in 1988. The 200tdi was 1992. So It's possible a K reg rrc could have been petrol or diesel. If you put up a pic of whats under the bonnet we can advise what engine it is.
