Recently fitted myself my DIY snorkel ( dont judge it looks mint for a DIY jobby ) but as the snorkel top is facing forward there is a puddle forming in the airbox with all this bloody rain :doh:

Has anyone got any tips on how to avoid flooding the thing ??

Pics required before the panel can advise.

Small puddle not really a problem btw, full air box on the other hand is a big problem.

Remember you need to seal your air box so it cannot drain out also.

Just make sure you empty it every now and then. Simple.

I will post pictures to be judged and ridiculed soon , not going out in that rain though .

It is well and truely water tight it nearly sucked a friends glove off his hand when he tested it

As for the minute i have put a pre-filter off my minibike on it to see if it keeps the water out . Take it this is a regular occurence then ??

Well, obviously with a sealed air box, any kind if water down the choob will puddle in there.

However, I have a forward facing Southdown which does not have an angled front like a safari, and it's fine. Sometimes it gets a jet wash too.

so youve fitted a snorkle to enable the engine to breath if wading
but you dont wanna take it out in the rain?

Ha no i ment myself . I wasnt going out to take pictures in the rain .

Has it not occured to you to turn it round so it faces backwards...?

or has here...put a mushroom on top from some drainpipe.

Mine faces backwards but i still get a small amount of water in the box so after its rained heavy i just check it and mop it out
