Hi all, my 52 plate freelander radio comes on but no sound. CD plays fine. Checked connections behind unit etc all OK. I would think if it's an aerial problem there would be some sort of crackling noise or interference but nothing at all.
TIA steve

The aerials are known to corrode, but as you say, this normally results in a bad signal with lots of static. There is a mute function if the receiver doesn't get a carrier frequency, but normally the carrier is present, long before the audio broadcast is receivable.

Thanks, am thinking of gettig new head unit they are cheap enough. But if that doesn't work will be waste of time and money.
