I just got a 300 with the intention of building a greenlaner, but the Radio ariel is an automatic one in the wing. I was laning with the radfio off - To stop it getting bent on branches.. and I was thinking about changing it...

Anyone got any suggestions as to where to mount it or know of any cunning plan to stop it getting broken off... or clever ariels, window mounted ones etc...

Cheers & Happy New Year to you all...

get a rear window out of a later one! I have a 96 300TDi ES and the aerial is built in to one of the rear windows (the side ones in the boot area)

Hi All,

there is a "Booster" fitted also with the rear window aerial. You can hear the difference in signal when the ignition is switched off, the signal strength drops.

Why not get one of those £2.99 little rubber ariels from your local motor factor, You cannot snap them and give good reception.

could always try a front windscreen mounted jobbie from halfrauds. just sticks to the bottom inside edge of the glass, find an earth and a supply and your away:D
