Hi

I have a 300tdi 1996 discovery.
My gearbox and trans box are starting to show signs of wear ie slapping when changing gear ect.

I have sourced another gearbox and trans box. while I have the spare gearbox out ect what parts should I replace whilst it is out? ie bearings, rubber seals ect? any links to sites ect would be great.

unless gear box is leaking from seals leave alone ,t/box change input icv10000 put a little loctite around the out side to hold it in place and 2 xftc4939 out put seals ,its beter to grease inside seal to hold garter spring in place if tapping seal in

It's bone dry, however I don't want it to start leaking a few months down the line. As with all disco's it's a case of when not if it starts to leak or break

dont try and replace gear box seals unless leaking ,as doing so can cause bigger leak
