Not sure where to pose this question...

Discovery gearbox/transfer box
Just a quick question please...

Looking for a replacement R380 gearbox/transfer box for my 1994 disco but will the same box fit from a Diesel, as mine a V8.
If not whats the difference ?

This poor bugger has asked this question twice now and no replies!
I don't know, but my guess is that the R380 gearbox will bolt to either the V8 or the 300 Tdi engine.
Can anyone more knowledgeable agree? Or call me an idiot?

If nobody else replies try paddock or LRO magazine

The difference will be the bell housing, no idea if they're different for the V8 or the Tdi / Td5 - even so, you've got the bellhousing from your own engine so you'll be able to swap that to whichever gearbox you source.

dont think it will fit as the input shafts are different lenghts....
