either or MTF94 Used to be people would spit there dummy when atf was used in the R380. so they put the MTF on the bottle. Manual transmission fluid so now the dummy spitting has stopped

I use MTF, although my gearbox was specced for ATF. People I know use ATF, no issues.

I've used both. I'd say ATF is better in mine, which i believe it had ATF in from the factory (1995 300tdi). Seems to change better in colder weather with ATF too.

Sounds stupid, but I'm sure they boxes prefer whatever they spent most their life running in. Daft statement I know, but it's been the same for both my 300tdis with R380's

r380 is a later version of an lt77 and share most of the same bearings,r380 did originally use atf, either oil works well,in my experience
