I have a 1998 TD 5 which i have only had for a week. When I locked it last and then opened it again the rear offside door lock doesnt pop up. it locks ok but wont unlock. I've tried with the key and it doesnt work. i've tried lifting it up by hand but it just snaps back down again. the only way to open it is to pull the opening handle twice and then it opens. i can hear the motor working but it just wont open but locks ok. i've tried WD40 but nothing happens.

Any ideas please. ive looked at previous threads on this subject and there are similar problems but not the same.

Its probably a spring or something in the lock, if you take of the inner door lining(card) you will be able to see better what is happening and mey be able to fix it.

i spoke to williams l/r about this whilst on about the diff lock issue.
they suggested WE take the door panel off and identify the broken part and order it seperately.
he said all they would do was change the whole lock "not cheap"
