Anyone know how to diagnose a dead automatic dimming rear view mirror?

How hard does your fan blow?! The air con works - it is desperately in need of a recharge, but the real problem is that then the air comes out of the vents at little more than a trickle unless on full blast, and you could hardly call that a blast! Is that normal? I don't remember my last Disco being so bad, but that was a while back now. Is there a pollen filter I can try changing to see if that makes any difference?

there should be a little sensor on the front of the mirror, cover this with your thumb to trick the mirror into thinking its night time, then shine a torch in the mirror so that it hits you in the eyes, if it blinds you the mirror is ****ed , hope this helps matthew

Blind, I'm blind!!! does that mean it's ****ed?!

Someone said something about there being a green light on it when you press the button - I can't seem to get the light to come on. I'll try and dig out the multimeter and check for power at the mirror. Is there an easy way to remove it from the windscreen?
