Went to fit me QT front diff guard this morning, came to a slight prob. My damper is already moved using a relocation kit so nothing there.

However, After de gunging everything with degreaser, i removed the origional steering damper bracket.

THIS came with it!!!-------->

Now, what do we do with this? What the hell is this? It goes between the damper bracket and bottom of the diff. And it weighs about 3-5 kg i think, (couldnt tell when it crushed toms hand....)

Haynes doesnt mention it, but its on the underbottom piccie near the front of it. Rave dont know it either.

I've got the haynes 'modifying disco' book, and they put a diff guard kinda like the QT (bearmach one i think) which is the same and its on theres.

I can't get the diff guard on with it there. I might have to modify the damper bracket if i cant.

Cheers all as per.

Hang on, re-reading the 'modifying disco' book, it seems to call it the 'vibration damper'

I thought thats what the steering damper was kinda

Ok, re-read the book again (instructions defo make no mention of it) and the bearmach guard (same as basically) leaves it there, so it looks like my guard is badly cut. Just took the damper off. Held it next to it and marked off what i'll be cutting in twenty mins......

Oh crap thats alot, good job i've afew cutting blades left........

Ok, its been cut, and after much swearing and almost dropping the weight on his head twice, tom fit it. Woo diff guardyness!

(mental note, skathing email to QT)
