Thought I'd introduce my-self on the range rover side, as I've finally plucked up the courage/ and cash to buy my first P38. 1996 4.0se

I've had a few landrovers in the past and I am planning on keeping my 300tdi disco to lug all my tools around, and I will try my hardest not ask the same old questions and use the search

But.......... I'm thinking of buying some diagnostic tools and just wanted some advice / personal opinions ect ect

Should I buy the Hawkeye (I've read a little info, but their website does not state that if needed. You could re-sync the BeCM).........or........ Should I buy EAS kicker lite and BeCM sync mate from Blackbox ? For roughly half the price of the Hawkeye

As always any advice / Banter most appreciated

have a look on blackboxs website, if youve got the money id plump for the faultmate as your be able to do alot more, not really clued up on the hawkeye but alot of people have the faultmate on here and swear by it. But if you can wait then there is the diagnostics that storey wilson has produced, its not got the p38 software yet but should in the future, it should be able to do quite alot and is alot cheaper. Heres a their websites: Blackbox Solutions Ltd - Designers and manufacturers of the best vehicle diagnostic tools. and http://www.rswsolutions.com/

What a brilliant idea, I wish I'd thought of that. That is a cracking notion for Range Rover owners.

Have a Disco as a recovery vehicle, mobile tool box and parts delivery vehicle. I wonder if I could persuade her indoors to give up her Focus?

The Faultmate is good but if you can wait the RSW solutions kit will be cheaper. As far as I know the Hawkeye can only do some of the P38 systems and excludes the BECM.
