I've been using this tape for a while now and it's brilliant. I use it to stop water ingress into RF cables and has a wide temp range and will not degrade very quick.
Spray your connector with WD-40 or equivalent and wrap it in this tightly and nah water will get in.
To remove use a sharpe knife and start again.

Hahaha self amalgamating tape is great i used it fitting sky now it gets used for all sorts

Yes good stuff but no new, sorry. I have been using it since the mid 60's when I was working for the GPO, we used it on buried underground cabled joints, we also wrapped a few laps of PVC electrical tape over the top as added protection.

So do you have experiance with radios, or the exchanges?

Only Strowger exchanges, I failed my Amateur Radio license exam and lost interest in anything radio until AM CB with sideband came along, it's all a long time ago.

The Amateur licences are alot easier to get now, you don't have to do the morse test. And only have to show basic safety aspects with RF and power.

M3's which are now full and have moved to the M5 series have a Max out of 10Watts from the antenna.
2E0's have upto 50Watts
And the Full licence is 400Watts.

You're allowed on any band HF, VHF, UHF, SHF you can get around the world on HF with 10Watts with Morse or Data SSB is a bit harder though.

I'm going to have HF(1.8-30MHz) HF(CB-11 meters) and VHF-UHF(145&430MHz) in my landy when I get her..

It costs £20 for the licence and you get more power than CB-4Watts.
