Few more details for you mate.
I never ended up thinning it in the end as i couldnt be bothered. Its the hammered finish, not the smooth one. And unless you just poor it on the car straight from the tin, you wont have any problem from drips. This stuff is like bitumen.
I did have to go round after with a brush and tidy up all the edges, unless you mask off your windows and window seals so you can just roller over them i'd advise leaving a 1/2" gap around all the bits you dont want paint on, then jus go round with a small brush.
Go to Toolstation and go to metal paint. Its just generic no frills white can paint
By the way. 1 litre of this stuff allowed me to do my boot floor. Whole car exterior (including sills and edges with doors open, under bonnet etc) And the front garden fence with two coats. Thats without thinning is, and i still have about 1cm in the bottom of the second tin. Its like energizer paint!!

rustoleum is available over here, just damn expensive - IIRC it was about £40 per gallon
can you not get it in smaller amounts? according to the OP 1 litre of paint was more than enough if i have read it right

rustoleum is from the weblink though - more than one coat, infact, quite a few - so probably why he calls it a $50 paint job - $50 per gallon over there perhaps?
