Hi all, after disconnecting battery to replace blend motor( thanks to all the information on here). A few items have arisen that i cannot resolve. 1 the readout on the hevac unit shows snowflake: temp of -40 degrees and book symbol. attempted to clear as described ie disconnect front L/H plug for 10 secs while book symbol is showing. the heating system now works perfectly. 2 the L/H front window will not reset. 3 information screen has gone dark on L/H side. the fuel distance and consumption figures are way out ,ie 6,2 mpg (its diesel) and the srs light comes on and self tests then goes off but came on for a short while then went off again. Finally will a nanocom help me to resolve such issues and if so is there anyone in the North west willing to show me how to use one (i am willing to pay) but see no point in buying one if i cannot use it properly. thanks for ahy assistance that you can offer me Mick

1) Snowflake is outside temperature close to freezing, could be you have disturbed the connector on the back of the HEVAC.
2) LH window will not reset, usually an indication of a worn regulator, any clicking noises? Close the window on to a piece of 2x2" wood using the usuall technique.
3)Do you mean the message centre screen? If so, bulb has failed. Just reset Trip 2 and it will start the consumption figures again.
4) SRS can sometime throw a fault if the battery is low and possible on a disconnect. If it's now gone off see what happens.

Who told you to do that never disconnect and refit anything with power to it or you can do damage.

thanks for that, i will try the above. the write up on Range rovers .net says that is how to clear the book symbol. With regard to the window i will do that as soon as it stops rainingn thanks again Mick

Ah, I miss read that bit, as Wammers said, not a good idea to disconnect anything with power on, can be destructive.

Can't help but notice the RM badge there wammers, you recently retired?

Hi, further to the problems I encountered, the hevac unit has returned to normal the reset as suggested has fixed the mpg/miles left prob and the srs light has not returned. only the L/H window reset to resolve. With the "close it on to a piece of 2"x2" " comment. is this to shut the window against a solid object ? thanks Mick

Yep, the window set function requires a solid stop to detect increased current, if the end of the regulator is worn it slips so will not activate the set.
