had a burst power steering pipe the pipe that is below the alternator on a 2.5 diesel , well I replaced it topped the fluid back up turned the steering wheel left and right to burp it but it's just really heavy it's like there is no power assist on any ideas on what I can do to check it next please

Didn't have any issues when I did mine recently, but did have to top the reservoir up again after a run round the block.

I assume you let it idle for a few minutes, while turning the steering to full lock in each direction a few times?

yeah tried that the only thing I can think is there must still be air in it somewhere was going to take the cap off and jack it up on the front to see if any air that's trapped burps it's way out if not it must be mechanical

I think there is a bleed screw on the steering box if you're having issues auto bleeding. Don't have RAVE to hand to check just now though.

Follow as per rave mate - needs to be in the air lock to lock to bleed - if it's still feeling loose I would suggest check box adjustment (roll forward 3 lengths of vehicle to ensure wheels straight) - but if it was ok before then should still be ok !
