There are fold motor service kits available on Amazon. They aren't cheap though so a replacement is probably best. Try spraying WD40 into the fold motor area to see if it makes a difference.

close them both by hand the operate the switch and if they do not work open them by hand then operate the switch again it might put them in sink

keep in mind that the motors might refuse to work
after a few open-close sessions ..
there's a thingamajig that saves the motor(s) from overheating afaik
gets worse on hot days ..

i find them a PITA .. to the point of considering manual folders

My SE's LH mirror gives 2 fold 1 unfold before shutting down. The RH mirror does 3 folds and 3 unfolds before shutting down. My old 01 V6 folded and unfolded at least half a dozen times before shutting down. I think my SE mirrors are too sensitive, so I've not hooked them up to the door locks yet.

I used to have a young man coming round in front of the bin lorry just closing the offside one he always denied doing it until I had cameras put up ,I went out one day and pointed to the camera's he does not do it now as I threatened to sue him as every time it messed my mirrors up.

My driver's side one is sluggish and causes the lock out. The passenger side one works like it just left the factory. I guess the offside was knocked at some point during previous ownership. It's bloody annoying but low on the list of to do jobs.

Mine would sometimes not open or close a pain if you closed them while moving by accident.
Turned out to be the switch..take it out pull it apart and spray some swith lubricant in the part that controls mirrors fold/unfold. The
contracts just became dirty/dead spotted on mine..moving the ball bearing type contacts around removed the worn in dead spots...not failed since....worth a try and its free.
