Hi guys, just removed my egr and I'm left with the wiring plug and vacuum hose - do I need to do anything with them, can I follow them back to there origins and remove them for the sake of good house keeping? Also almost certain my '95 manual disco is non edc - can I remove the egr electronic control unit? Thanks

I might get rid, gently finding my way around at the mo, so will be an easy project, thanks for the fast reply

Ideal, I need to steam clean to hunt down an oil leak, the less electronics the better!

1. The vacuum hose goes from the EGR valve to the vacuum modulator unit secured low down on the from RHS inner wing, just in front of the airfilter box. This needs blocking off, I usually use a self tapper.

2. The electrical plug just needs securing somewhere safe.

3. If you remove the EGR junk on the injection pump you might get a warning message on the dash - remove the plug and go for a run. If nothing appears you are good to go.

4. Unless your car is autobox, it certainly is not an EDC car.
