I'm looking at tinkering with my suspension on my 98 1.8 5dr and need some advice from experts.

One of the 1st things to fit is polyurethane bushes; on this i've noticed that the POLYBUSH kit is over £200 whilst the BRITPART kit substantially cheaper. Are the BRITPART kits any good?

On the MOT an advisory was on the suspension springs having a lot of rust so i may aswell look at the dampers and springs as i'm also considering a lift kit

All advice much appreciated (apart from the same old comments you see from people when they say 'burn it and get a proper landrover'.

Britpart stuff can vary in quality a lot - hence the regular name of ****part. You pays your money and you takes your chance really. Proper polybush kits and fixings are very good though



But you'd be better off putting the £250 towards a TD4

spending £250 replacing bushes on a hippo is the kinda thing George Osborne would do

I used Powerflex for my old BMW recently & they were well made & easy to fit. Also the subframe ones were surprisingly flexible so they definitely get my vote. Without having checked, I would say they would definitely be more pricey but so will every other make as Britpart really is ****part. Do it in stages & slowly replace them as you work on each area of the car spreading it & the cost over some months.
