Just a wild chance that anyone has come across the same…

On my 90, sometimes, usually if accelarating slowly at low revs and high gear, for example, 4th gear low revs, but should really be in 3rd…..

I can hear a cling, cling cling noise coming from the front.. sounds like a metal bit bouncing around somewhere..
Almost like if it’s the UJs, but I’ve checked that and its fine…

Also checked for any loose pipes, or brackets and cant really find anything..

Anyone come across something like this and found the problem?

Cheers

Heat shielding ? , needle rollers in the UJ shifting about ? ( wont show up as play ) .

Had a similar noise on mine, was a metal flange where the front prop goes in to the diff.

thanks for the tips guys, will be checking that!

WMan... I'll show you some farmers gate when I see you next on the plains!!! MUUUhahahahahaha!!!! :D

how can you find out whether its this if it shows no play?

I have a similar noise, it sounds terrible and is driving me nuts.

On a really basic note, i was under the car the other day "looking" for anything rattling etc and i noticed there is no play at all in the prop going to the rear diff but at the same time there is for the one going to the front.....this doesnt seem right, what needs doing?

cheers

do you mean play up and down, side to side, or play as you turn the pop around?

play as you turn the prop around is normal, but if its up/down/side to side, then its the UJ foked
