Hi Graham, your new toy looks very nice - and familiar !!! I think I may have put in a bid for it.
That is exactly the same vehicle - autobox and all - that I took to Morrocco 2 yrs ago and she was faultless.
Just make sure all the "hidden" bits have been done: fuel sedimenter cleaned out; brake fluid changed; coolant changed changed.
I'm assuming they changed the cambelt?
Get under as soon as you can and ensure that the underneath in all the areas is as it should be: sills outer and inner; boot floor; rear crossmember and mounts; etc etc etc.

yeh one of the first things i will be doing once the garage is finished is i will be fitting a de catt pipe and remove the egr valve.

Looks like a nice one. Well done. I saw one go for £1367.oo on Ebay last night. 96 300 manual. 15000 k . looked tidy on the pics but then again they nearly always do.

compared to the td5 auto the tdi auto feels better more responsive my td5 never drove like this one does but the more i think about it i think there was possibly an issue with the td5 box that i didn't know about till i got the tdi auto, as i would have thought the td5 auto would be twice as good as a tdi, just after new year this year i moved house using my old but mint P reg 300tdi man disco and aswell as loading up the disco with stuff i also towed a trailer loaded up aswell and you could tell that i was loaded up but didn't effect the disco once you got it rolling but if i had the tdi auto i don't think i would of known i had the trailer on and car loaded up but with the tdi auto i am more than happy with it.
