Hello everyone,

Just joined the forum and its pretty impressive so far!!

I'm new to the world of Land Rovers, after falling in love with a girl and her collection of horses and horse trailers. I had to give up my love of classic Jaguars and bought a 1987 110 Hi-Capacity.

It has a Perkins 4.182 turbo engine with a Land Rover/Range Rover LT95 Gearbox with overdrive fitted. It drives well with a lot of torque apparent.

I'm just wondering what the general opinion is of this combination?

Many thanks,
Steve

Hello!

If your land rover drives well enough with reasonably good mpg for its specific model you're laughing. Sounds like you've got a pretty good running drive train there :)

how did yer come ter that assumption then pos, ffs hes got a landy with a boat engine in it

You are posting on a 13 year old thread so don't expect a quick response.

Maybe you should start your own thread ;)

My old gaffer's wife had that engine in an early 90. Not fast but very torquey. Didn't seem to matter what gear you pulled away in. Great along the lanes at 55 to 60 mph. Got a bit loud after that.
