EAS experts....
Went to dinner last night... all good. Parked the car. Car has had zero EAS issues. Driving it every day. No delayed rise to drive height, etc. No sag, no problems whatsoever.

Had ride height on lock.
Get in the car... fire her up... get a light on entry and a blinking for target ride height.. normal...
Car a a little bouncy as I drive off.... but minutes later, still no dice. Blinking light for standard ride height.
I press extended ride height... same thing... blinking there, but not achieved I guess.
Car drives fairly normal...
Arrive at my gate 4 miles later... get out, car seems normal in terms of height, but it's dark... so hard to properly tell.
I request entry mode... car lowers... and since then has been at that position, or better say "bump stops".
No more rising to any height. Compressor seems to be running.... too hard to hear a leak, as it's a Diesel...
All air hoses seem to be connected...

Any clues... I have had my share of EAS issues on another Rover... but never a sit on bump stops. So far no EAS code/fault.

Could one bad air spring cause nothing to work at all?
Currently don't have my EAS unlock cable... so dead in the water.

Any ideas what can trigger this issue this immediately? Good - Park - Startup - EAS no longer working

Any tips highly appreciated.

The pump could be worn out and not pumping air if its been feeding a leak, have a check through the steeps in this guide from the late Wammers https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/checking-eas-compressor-and-diaphragm-valve.172555/
This is a great guide. Amazing works by Wammers. May he rest in peace.... he knew his stuff!
Seems like my compressor opted to just completely fail from one moment to the next. Was working perfectly fine only hours prior... but with the tests from Wammer's guide... zero suction... also no air coming out the silencer port... so I think all is good except for a bum compressor. Ordered a new one...
Anybody got a good source for the rebuild o rings, piston ring etc. for rebuilding my old compressor. seems that pretty easy, but I need the parts...
I found some $30 source in US... and my better half is there right now visiting family, so maybe that is the best option...
Being that I am in Italy... aka EU... UK sources are brought with duty and shipping charges unfortunately...
And lets be real... something technical masterpiece and advanced like a Range Rover P38 is not so common here...
But I did score a never been off road, no rust, straight body beauty here... thanks to great climate....

If this had happened a week ago I could have got a rebuild kit stuck it in my bag and popped it in the post as I arrived in Rome this afternoon .

I fitted a compressor from an l322. Does the same job in a third of the time but each to their own πŸ‘Œ
I like that idea. Not bad.... but I like to keep her all original while I can.
Also... I have never had an issues having to wait her ride heights to be achieved... hence my big surprise the the compressor is completely shot, just from one moment to the next.... EAS has been so tight that if I am parked level, without wind exposure I come back a month later and the truck is still at full height as parked... no change noticeable to the bare eye.
parked on a slope or when the winds are strong... different issue... always wants to level itself again... but even then hold close to what it should be...

That's a good indication of a good system but never rule out a problem that can just arise through something letting goπŸ‘
I did the compressor change mainly because I could and I wanted to see if it was possible. Turns out... It is☺️

It's likely that the compressor is shot from overwork because it's feeding a leak. The airbags have a design life of 8 years 80K miles, they develop splits that open and close where they fold under so it's possible they hold air at one height but not at another. If you always drop it to access when parked, more bag is folded under and the pressure is also lower so no leak for example.

Jury is out... new compressor should arrive tomorrow if they are not lying to me.
I have definitely experienced the word out compressor feeding leak issue on my other P38 in the past... but that had issues getting to ride height, would sag over night... etc.

I mean it is all still a possibility and could have happened very recently. I do drive 4km every day where the road surface is 90% pot holes. So deep that you can take donkey tours to the bottom. So the air bags are bing taxed... but they all looked pretty good when I inspected them about a month ago.
