The only way ive heard of is taking the fuse out of the airbag system, then taking the SRS bulb out to avoid the light on the dash being on all the time..
Id be impressed if someone out there has solved this problem by installing a switch themselves.. and if they did, i imagine its a lot of hassle...
In buckerstd4's case its a shame it only fits in the front, but any other case, ALL car manufacturers recommend that all car seats are fitted in the rear, as that is statistically the safest place for a child or booster seat. My mate has just had twin boys, and hes got a 52 plate td4, and he has just bought 2 stage 1 car seats that fit in the back of his truck with no problems?? Not sure of the make, but can ask him if you like?
My wife has a 57 plate scenic that has the passenger airbag disable switch.. and even with it, i never let her put our4 year old daughter in the front when she was younger.. because its safer in the back.. PLus, in the scenic, if you disable the passanger airbags, you also disable the side and curtain airbags!! So you actually increase the chances of other people getting hurt!! Bloody french
