Hopefully you're not going to flame a noob?

We are a small Audi specialist so we are used to a slightly different 4wd system than what you guys have.
Anyway the father in law purchased a Freelander 4 cylinder petrol, it has proved quite reliable for him but now bits seem to be falling off at a fair rate and hence we are now being asked to have a look at it for him (whilst it was working ok he took it elsewhere )
The PAS belt got thrown off the crank pulley, the belt was found within the undertray but it appears there should be a tensioner to adjust the belt, this is no where to be seen and as we don't normally work on these we are a bit stumped as to what bits we need.

The PAS belt is on the inner side to the crank pulley, It would be difficult for the belt to come off without the alternator belt being removed first.

Check that the pulley on the PAS pump housing is tight. It has three 8mm bolts on the outer face of it. You undo or tighten these 8mm bolts whilst tension is on the belt.

Is should have a tensioner on it, black plastic cog, where an allen key (think its 6 or 7mm) is used to rotate/lever anticlockwise to release the tension .
There are two sizes of belt for the alternator (air-con/non air con) but not sure about a single size for the PAS.

Might be worthwhile checking the crank pulley nut is torqued to 205 - 210 Nm, you'll need to lock the flywheel for this, usually via starter motor aperture, or car in 5th gear and standing on the brakes method
