Rebuilding series 3 88 from ground up on new galv chassis - we had parabolics from the donor vehicle but wondered if it was worth adding the wedges to improve alignment?
Noticed that the locating dowel bolt isn't long enough once you add the wedge so basically the axle would only be held by the shackles. Doesn't seem to be any longer dowel bolts available or any mention that it would be a problem but thought I'd see what others thought about this.

We were sold two sets of wedges over the counter all the same size, but since searching online I found there are possibly different sizes for front / back maybe?

you only need wedge if angle if prop angle is compromised

Thanks James - I think the parabolics do add height and will likely make prop more angled but not having the dowel reach into the axle locator hole seems odd - smaller wedges would prob do the job if they are available

I bought a set from Macdonald landrover on ebay 13mm thick as my parabolics had affected prop angle located ok on the dowel

Parabolics should not be affecting your prop angle. I bought a set of gb springs to go on my 109 and that lifted the back about 4 inches over the old springs. The front lifted 2 inches.
Playing about with the suspension geometry needs a lot of precision setting up and on the front could effect tracking and handling.

I've never heard of this happen just because parabolics were fitted.

You should see if the pinion angle is an issue or not. Not point planning for a mod that may not be needed. And no point doing it before checking.

My diff flange was not parallel to gearbox flange , pointed downwards also made propshaft too short ie when springs extended burst seal out of sliding joint.

Made up a propshaft from a rangerover to suit and ran that till the sliding joint worn out advantage was wider yoke so able to bend more.
With wedges fitted now back to standard propshaft and no issue.
Parabolics are Chris Perfects been on there around 9 nine years and still going well.
