Im wanting to paint up the chassis on my ninety what i want to know is best way to do it, and how much paint ill need, plus by the time ive finished rubbing down am i going to need a welder lol
Cheers steve

Go around it with a screwdriver or small hammer and find out if you're going to need any parts plated first. You won't be doing yourself any favours if you paint over rust

Yeah i know :-/ was gunna get a wire brush for the grinder and start that way but i shall pull the screw driver out lol

There's lots of different thoughts. For mine, I bought some red oxide, sanding the chassis down and painted with red oxide, then hammerite black on top. Still looks good.

I bought a 5 litre tin of red oxide, and though I only painted up to the seat box from the back, I used I reckon less than a 5th of the tin. Will be doing the rest in the next few months I hope

Red oxide seems to last forever lol. I bought a small tin for various bits and bobs and its still going

Technically red oxide is overkill as the hammerite is supposed to be painted onto the metal after removing the loose rust. I've just done mine from the bulkhead to the back plus the front bumper and the footwells with 3/4 litre of hammerite.
