Hi

just starting on the rebuild of my 90 and bought a new galv chassis but want to paint it black.What it the best paint to use that is hard waring etc ?

I have been looking at bed linner paint any ideas ?

I would suggest painting it with stone chip.

it will still come off whatever you paint it with .galv does thin as part of its natural process of protecting steel ,you end up with powedery layer under paint,wont hurt it end up smooth galv again ,it take decades for galv to go

yes and thanks for that,i am just looking for the best paint to use as i want it black and not silver

You need to use etch primer first then the colour of your choice. dont use a paint like hammerite over etch primer though it reacts badly!

any it will still come off but not straight away the galv is rust protection

Id spray it with or paint it with under seal.
