I've owned my Td4 for about four years now and have never known what the name of the "red" paint is that it's sprayed with. I've got a few little stonechips I need to sort out this year and need to get a touch-up stick, but I haven't got a clue what colour I'm looking for:confused:

Long shot, I know, but has anyone got any idea what kind of red it might be, going by the attached photo? It's a 51 plate, early 2002 model.

If you look on the door sil of the drivers door, there may be a small White sticker on there. If there is the paint code is normally the bottom code in the list.

hi,creeeg, think im right here by saying, your red is alverstone ,that is if its, micatallic paint.if its solid paint, then it will be rutland red.tim.

Meant to say, yes, it is metallic (micatallic?), so that could be it.

Thanks for that. I'll see how that one compares when I'm next near a paint stick vendor.

The ID numbers are on a plate at the bottom of the left hand door pillar, the paint code is on there too.

tis alvestone red, halfrauds do a touch up kit with primer, paint and laquer, comes out a pretty good match. (mines alvestone red too)

hi craig, just to ans your ?,micatallic paint as in alverstone red is amix of alluminium and mica particles in the base coat to give extra depth to the paintwork.phew.for what its worth the part no for it from lr is stc4325va. or if you wish rimmers stock it.tim.
