ratty

I'm not special I'm limited edition
Has anyone had any experience with the cheapy wing mirrors that paddocks sell?

Door mounted mirror - Defender type

I've just got home from work to find my mirrors have both been snapped off, all the arials snapped off or bent and my number plates nicked. I don't want to spend £30 a time on genuine mirrors and arms for some fecker to do it again but equally I don't want the mirror arms or heads swinging around when I'm moving.

Sorry to hear that, If it didn't rain where you are you could possibly get old bill to dust it for prints. did the chav box get done also?

I'd report the number plates at least as you don't want fuel drive off

As it's a prolonged attack SOCO are meant to be popping over to dust it. As it has no longer has number plates or mirrors I can't drive it to get any replacement parts or to put it in the dry. I can't tow it without dropping the rear prop cos I don't have my flat bed anymore. It was parked right opposite the cctv camera though but summit tells me it won't have seen anything. On the plus side, cos the plates have been nicked it's now on the police database to be tugged over everytime they see it being driven. Oh well..... Good thing I have another meeting with the police and council next week.

I'd be kicking off if that camera isn't working.

Gyp said if it is chav's, we could pay a visit and smack a few with you.

Sorry to hear that ratty! I have those mirrors on mine and they are fine, good value for money :)

some off the mirrors are good some poorer, but have generally worked ,the ones ive fitted

Cheers James. Where it doesn't state what make they are I'm a bit wary of getting mirrors that won't stay still.

Sounds like they may be worth a punt.

cheers. I might even take the opportunity to go for a larger miror head on the passenger side. I was gonna fit heated mirror pads to it for winter but I'm a bit dubious of it now.:(

Knowing your more than capable,
but if you want some moral support and someone to hold the door while you put the hinge bolts in-I'll help.

Cheers mate.:)

I'm hoping the bolts aren't gonna give me too much grief but being a landrover I get the feeling that they'll go down fighting.:(

I think mine is gonna need an impact driver on it too. I might start sparying it up everytime I go in and out to work until the replacements arrive.

Remove one nut and washer and get spray in by bolt,

If I remember correctly there is a steel tube running through door that stops bolts crushing the door when tightened-you may be able to leave nut loose and with window down tap the nut and bolt flat with a hammer and see if it will free.
