I ordered a few bits from Paddocks, having previously been happy with their stuff. When the order arrived it was a complete disaster!

I'd ordered a cubby box, which was very nice. But inside the cubby box they'd packed some sachets of one-shot grease, which had exploded and covered everything in grease, including the upholstered inside of the cubby box.

I also ordered some bulbs, which were just placed loose in a plastic bag inside the cubby box with everything else. Not surprisingly, they'd been smashed into a million pieces, and the bag broken, so everything in my order was covered in grease and broken glass.

So for the small saving of shipping everything in one box, they now have to pick up the ruined items, replace them, and ship them back to me - hardly worth it I'd have thought.

Having seen other feedback about Paddocks on here I get the impression that they're not that great. I had been happy up till now but will think twice about ordering from them again.

I had a brand new TD5 fuel pump sent to me from Paddocks and it arrived damaged. There was lots and lots of padding in the box with the pump, but the bloody idiots had put the pump to one side against the side of the box and stuffed all the packaging in the empty space. I was furious because I was in a hurry to get the job done and ended up having to buy a 2nd pump so I could get it on overnight delivery, then wait until they refunded the charges.

Ive not had to order anything breakable from paddocks yet. Everything ive had so far has been reasonably packaged.

I can't fault them,in fact everything I've had off them has been too well packed and it's taken me ages to get the bloody things out!

In fairness, I should say I have had three or four packages sent from Paddocks - I am in fact waiting for another three to arrive today, which were ordered yesterday morning. None of the other packages were an issue, though nothing fragile was in them. I guess it's Sod's law that the one item I needed in a hurry, which happened to be the most expensive thing I'd needed was the one that was badly packaged and got broken.

Same as whats already been said really, I've had a few packages from them, but nothing fragile (I don't think), certainly can't remember any issues with any of my packages. Perhaps the OP was just unlucky

I always buy from paddocks but I fetch it from the shop. When they do send me stuff I'll admit they aren't great at packaging. I got a safari along with some other things and they cut open the box of the safari and put everything inside it then taped it back up.

After I posted this early this morning, I waited and waited but eventually I got an email from them saying my package would arrive on Wednesday instead of Tuesday as the first email they sent had stated. Of course, Wednesday I can't stay home to wait for it as I have pre-booked an off-road driving tuition morning (part of my Xmas from my daughter) for the morning and an eye test in the afternoon. In the end I had to phone them and ask for it to be delivered on Thursday am instead. Fair does though, when I moaned that I'd paid for express overnight delivery they refunded me the £5 and when I asked why the delay, they explained - wait for it - originally my order was being sent out in three packages but they decided to re-pack it into four because they didn't want the wind deflectors getting damaged in transit!

So, almost full marks to Paddocks for this, shame they couldn't have decided to re-pack my packages in time to despatch my order on Monday (after all, the order value is £430·95 and I did place the order early in the morning) but better late than never and better late than damaged.

Maybe, just maybe, someone from Paddocks is on LZ?
Maybe they are paying attention to this thread?

To be honest, I'm just as glad really, I've not been feeling to good today and I wouldn't have felt like making a start on the work I need to do anyway, so it's no biggie.

I would collect my items myself too if I didn't live up in the Scottish highlands.

I wouldn't have an issue with them opening one package to fit other stuff in if it was packaged well enough, logical to save on packaging costs and less for you to re-cycle.

I'm fine with that, it makes sense and they've done this in the past with no problems.

But putting glass bulbs loose and unprotected into a box with heavy things rattling around? That's just a lack of common sense.

I should have gone to Halfords and paid ten times the price, at least I'd have my bulbs now.

They probably have a half interested part time spotty faced (and buttocked) youth to do their packaging and they havent bothered to tell him how to pack things properly. Its all down to training. Maybe an e-mail giving feedback (as opposed to formal complaints) would help.

I doubt that- i always collect my items as its not that far and a nice drive and i get them there and then (im an impatient bugger) - having seen the place - they have 20 year old pc's and are continously running around like mad things, I can't see them having time to visit LZ!

paddocks are **** but cheap, and they have far to much britpart. I use them only for certain things.

I have found landrover direct excellent recently and they are my new fave

if you have an issue with packaging just quote the packers name !!! its on a small sticker stuck on every parcel...

..then he will no doubt get the bollicking he deserves if something is broken.
