Interested to know why? Surely the damping is taken up by the springs in the DMF or by the springs in the friction plate in a solid flywheel? I think the TD5 used the same clutch and they're converted all the time?
I rang LUK on Hereford today. He says the DMF is no longer made and hasn't been for so long that he doesn't even have the part number anymore! However, they're listed all over. LR Direct have them at about £515+VAT but I cannot connect to their website as it says "it is a security risk". Island do them but I am still boycotting them.
I also spoke to Rakeway Motorsport. Brilliant chaps. REALLY helpful and friendly and seem pretty decent. They're just about to start doing a flywheel conversion kit for £370+VAT. They need the ring-gear off the old flywheel though as they cannot get them off Land Rover for love nor money. For the standard kit that doesn't include the friction plate and pressure plate / release bearing. Would need to work out the a correct sprung friction plate. I think a ceramic one is bit over the top for a stock engine. See

I also spoke to Clutch Fix (see
https://www.clutch-fix.co.uk/). They do conversion kits with double sprung pressure plates and ceramic friction plates but also stock versions with standard friction material. Again, VERY helpful and friendly but he's going to get back to me with a price because the money man wasn't in when I rang. Apparently their Facebook page is full of chipped P38s with racing clutches if someone wants to go looking on Facebook for them.
So, there are options. Just need to digest the pros and cons of a DMF versus single billet and think if the price is worth it for something I'll probably have to yank out again in however many miles.
