I'm pretty sure the washer pump to the headlights is not working. The other two are working fine.

I am assuming these pumps are not intelligent, so if they get the signal to pump, that's what they will do, no questions asked!!!

Had the reservoir out enough to get to the pumps. Swapped the electrics round to test the problem. Nothing from that particular pump - noise or water when connecting a plug from either of the other two working pumps.

Therefore my next course of action is to change it.

I have seen washer pumps in Halfords, can these be used or is it best to get a proper one?

Can anyone recommend a good place near Gatwick to pick one up?

Also I believe the headlight wipers/washer won't work unless there is adequate fluid in the reservoir (ie. the low level warning isn't appearing on the dash readout when you start the car).

Dunno if they are all the same, but mine takes about 4-5 litres of fluid and it takes ages to fill because of the long bent filler neck.

I spend ages waiting for the air to all come out, pour in a bit more, wait for the bubbles to go, pour in a bit more, wait, pour, wait etc etc...

All,

Went and got a salvage washer pump from Gumtree4x4.

Fitted it this afternoon, all now working fine.

Only downside was I lost a lot of washer fluid!!!

Thanks to the guys at Gumtree for being so helpful.
