Afternoon all,
I am looking for assistance from the Yoda's of the landrover world. I am back to the old P38 but have a problem. Under heavy acceleration when cold, there is what sounds like the exhaust hitting the chassis but it isnt and a cross between that sound and a blowing exhaust and occasionally a squishing sound from just infront of the instrument cluster under heavy acceleration. Once up to temp, well as up to temp as it gets (Just above blue) it seems to go away but get a rattle from the centre console where the selector is. Think its just loose.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

also it seems to have a lot more vibration than it should.
Vibration stationary when the engine is revved or on the move? Stationary think crank damper, moving think UJ's. Have you checked the gearbox has oil in it?
Squishing sound, look at the turbo pipes for leaks.
