There are only 4 allen screws per cover. Good chance the gasket has got hold of it. As has been said-give it a bit of help with a soft mallet.

On the V8 whether it's a 3.5, 4.0 or 4.6 there are definately 4 allen screws, they are 1/4UNC-NOT metric (Like the rest of the crossbolted)-need a 3/16 A/F allen key- on each rocker cover. Two short & two long. They are usually hidden below a loom on the inside and are not opposite the ones you can see on the outer edge-the centres are wider. I know this for sure as the later rubber gasket has four steel spacer inserts to prevent the gasket being squashed too much furthermore I replaced my rocker cover screws with stainless allen screws from work and I took a few extra for spares. I use a "T" type allen wrench to remove/replace them.

From memory,the 2 outer screws are 1/4UNC X 1" long and the 2 inners 1/4UNC X 1 1/4" (approx). No doubt someone will get a digital vernier, measure them and prove me wrong (Again).:hysterically_laughi

Nah-someone always ready to shoot me down in flames Gav. Never stop learning with these damn things. There are no "Experts" with these P38's, only people who like to think they are and I definately aint one of them!! Just passing on life's experiences.
i know, its the same with most cars. take the omega and its dual air ram malarky, the rear vac solenoid has two tiny stabs off it at right angles, the coil pack is behind the passenger side bank on the v6 engine the only access to change the plug leads without stripping the entire ram off is by threading your hand over the solenoid thus breaking the blood solenoid stabs or around the rocker cover and burning your arm! changing plug leads is half a day's job to take the ram off and regasket it when done, so you might aswell do the rocker gaskets etc and thats about £70 from VX for the kit plus between £30 and £90 for the leads and all because the umpteen breathers that VX deemed needed block and blow the rocker gasket and put oil in the plug wells knackering the plugs and leads!
well thats how i spent most of saturday anyway! then its got to come off again when i get the new solenoid as its inaccessible til the ram is off!:doh:
