Evening all

Quite a newby on here but what a cracking site My problem is that my

Diesel DT p38 has decided to perch on its bump stops, I think it might be

my own fault for ignoring the warning signs that it might happen. The

front airbag drivers side started to leak about two weeks ago, as soon as

the engine was turned off and the doors closed it sank pretty quick with a

gushing sound, on inspection I found a split low down on the front airbag.

It drove ok though but took a bit longer to reach normal operating height,

I thought id get away with leaving it like that and driving it while I ordered

a new airbag off ebay, however yesterday I got the warning EAS fault on

the dash and then Slow Max speed 35mph.

Im not sure what damage might have been done whilst driving it like it was

but is it going to be a big job to sort out ? Im hoping the compressor isnt

knackerd and that new air bags fitted up front will be all thats needed, Id

appreciate any information as to what will need doing to sort it, all the

other airbags are in good condition and the EAS has been faultless in the

three years ive owned the vehicle, in fact its been the best car ive ever

had and ive had many, If Wammers reads this is there any chance of

having a look at it and see what you think, Im in Preston as well Wammers

PR2 so Im not far from you, any help and advice would be much

If you have been running around with an air leak for a while you will probably have knackered the compressor. Change your airbag and see what happens then. PM me if you need the faults clearing.

Change all your airbags, if one is that bad all the rest will be leaking. As Wammers said you have probably knackered the compressor. If you need a guide to changing the airbags or the EAS software & cable, PM me.
