Alright,

Ok not really a problem as such, more of a 'how'd I manage that?' but my P38's lock/unlock light flash has changed today from the usual all round indicator flash to headlights and tail lights and I haven't a clue how? Not had any fancy things plugged into her apart from a Bluetooth OBDII scanner from when I was watching the trims.

Think I'd like them back to the way they were, any ideas?

Regards,

Chris

These are set in the BeCM....

Oftentimes the BeCM losses its marbles and randomly changes things - surprisingly, this setting gets changed fairly frequently.

You will need to get it onto a full fat diagnostic device (Faultmate Extreme, Autologic, Nanocom Evolution(?), Testbook, Hawkeye(?)) to set this back again.

You know I am sure these BCeMs were a Terminator fan's attempt a Skynet but never quite managed it...

Cheers for the info, I'll not bother for the time being as hoping to pick up a Nanocom very soon now I see they cover the P38s, sure I'll survive lol

You have done well there as far as i know only choices are flashers or side lamps. Head lamps is an all new ball game.

I am not sure if the Nanocom's BeCM module will cover this setting - best check with BBS or maybe another on here may no different....

After hooking obd2 scanner to mine loads of things misbehaved such as the hevac stopped working and reading engine temp was -alot, engine did run but badly, i spoilt the working machine, all sorted by disconnecting battery overnight (giving it a good charge since it was off), holding + & - together before reconnecting to make sure fully discharged, viola everything back to normal, bit of a kerfuffle, wont do that again anytime soon. Didn't notice anything different with the alarm though as i didn't check.

I reckon bluetooth OBD devices might just upset things, they are not designed for the
P38 and they use RF so who knows what they could interfere with on an old design car.

Oh right, its not getting used again now, cheers people.

Need to get that nanocom, too many things need checking esp the HEVAC which appears to have a mind of its own (variable fan speed mainly)!

With the system in AUTO mode, the fan speed will vary in order to maintain the set comfort setting....

Also if it is in manual speed mode - the effect of ram air whilst the vehicle is in motion will also have the effect of increasing/decreasing airflow.

Well I never use Auto to be honest, know it needs recalibratng as only just fixed the passenger blend, also I need a new plenum foam so maybe that has a bearing?

"Hedgehog" final stage resistor may be faulty causing the hevac to go it's own ways
Does the P38 have one of those??

Looking at the C/D, if there is a final resister, I think it is contained within the blower motor housing....
