In the miriad of items that need sorting on the RR the gear change on the thing needs you to have been to the gym a few times to get into and out of gear.

Any quick ideas on whether this is likely to be linkage issue or are there other potential causes ?

4.0 P Reg. Oil level is fine and consistent behaviour whether hot or cold. Garage think cable may be at fault so looking to order new one and replace.
 
I'm suspecting the state of the cable at the gearbox end isn't helping

Given the state of the selector cable I have been trying to source new but keep coming up with only the full selector kit.

Has anybody bought the selector cable itself and if so where from ?
 
In my case it was clutch slave cylinder which I replaced along with clutch and pressure plates. Been fine last 3 years.
 
Managed to get microcat working today and the only part listed is the full gear selector with cable. A mere £254 !!!

Has anybody on here replaced the cable itself ? I cannot believe you have to replace the full selector just to replace the cable. Even for LR that is crazy.
 
Update: If anybody else has the same issue then the cable itself, which is listed only for later models, actually fits so you do not have to purchase the complete assembly.

Genuine cable is £47.
