Hi guys , got a bit of a problem I need some advice...

Range ro p38 dse

Failed the mot start of the month on front ball joints and front shocks, so had new shocks and all 4 ball joints done and a few other bits and exhaust sorting and steering alined properly, and its driving feeling better than ever, work carried out by a great guy who does land rovers not at the mot place

2 weeks later ( this week) its developed a funny squeaking creaking sound, it comes and goes, its hard to describe but it can be fairly high pitched squeaking and creaking a bit like a fat person moving on a creaky bed !! It doesn't happen at speed , mostly when turning slowly and at angles, sometimes it comes and goes with the release of the clutch/drive in lower gears, or when doing 3 point turns etc, but it doesn't do it all the time

So I took it back to the bloke who did the work and took for a drive to show him and typically it didn't really do it much only a little bit , as we drove and turned in to his yard at an angle going down to the right

It sort of does it at a low speed and squeaks and creaks and has that "bouncey" sort of moving on a dodgy bed sound, the creaking sort of bounces

But rocking the car or any suspension issue its not , and he got it on the ramp tested the wheels and work done and its nothing there had a good feel around

And the front prop shaft ujs have a bit of play , he said they needs doing so its booked in for weds to get don and said that's the only thing he can see

What im wondering .... Is that creaking squeaking noise something that happens when the ujs need doing ??

The noise was not there before the mot fail and work done and just came about a couple of weeks after

Appriciate any advice on that , or anything else to check ?

Thanks guys

i'm interested to know, how you know, what noise a fat person makes on a creaky bed? is there a story there somewhere?:laugh::laugh:

Perhaps he listens to his missus:D:D:D Seriously though, it may be down to a dry u/j so try getting underneath with a grease gun and see if it stops squeeking:)

Fix the UJ's then see what you have, but if they are not greased regularly they seize and make a variety of noises.

Cheers guys just wanted to check, as i thought worn ujs would have a more knocking noise/symptom or wobble particularly at speed but there's none of that
