Hi all My p38 40.se manual i have just got out the garage to do a few jobs. i brought the software and lead but can not get the 2 to connect just red box no green idle. i have cleaned the plug and new plug but no joy . untill i clear the faults were do i go . apart from a box of matches

There is a fuse linked to diagnostic conn,might be 35 in the underbonnet fuse box.check its not blown

hi have checked fuse it looks ok a 5 amp is in there. at a lost only thing i can think of is lead no good

As Mozz says Datatek is thee man for Eas and supplies the cables as well as software.

If you are using a USB to serial adaptor, it's quite likely to be a problem with the drivers especially if you run Vista or 7.

Did you sort the Com Port number from your computer ? Mine won't work unless the right one is activated. I think its in device manager somewhere but the instructions should say.
