Hi all, hope your all trouble free this morning.
I'm after sum advice please.
I bought my p38 about a month ago and the key fob I got did not work. It flashed but that's about it. I changed the batts and replaced the buttons and tried a resync but no joy.
Although this was irritating it never caused me a problem with driving car so I left it.
However, on Saturday i came to start it and it just cranked over and over but wouldn't fire. Then the battery went flat.
I changed battery for my spare and same thing, no fire.
I thought this was maybe the immobiliser kicking in so I tried the generic EKA code (1515) but all this did was give me keycode lockout. Ive just phoned ripon landrover this morning and they have given me my proper EKA code whic I put in and it worked straight away. He then talked me through my fob resync but still no joy and car still not firing just cranking.
So anybody that's got this far down without falling asleep, would you be able to help????
Thanks in advance.
Ben.

Key in door, held down lock on fob, turn to lock, held for 3 secs, let go of lock, turn to unlock. Remove key.
Cheers

No no faults on dash. Only recent thing is new battery, used eka code to unlock immobiliser, but all this after starting problem.

From Rave:
A handset may be resynchronised by performing a key lock or unlock on either front door within 30 seconds of performing a lock, superlock or unlock function. The BECM uses the change of state of the CDL switch to initialise resynchronisation

More or less what you've been doing but try it separately - ie press the button and then do the key lock or unlock.

You have to have the check engine light come on when you turn on the ignition. If you don't, it indicates the BECM and the engine ECU are out of sync. You need either the diagnostics to resync or someone with a syncmate to do the same thing.
