Hi all,

After a fuel injection pump swap, my p38 started up a bit rough but good enough to drive. Lack of power was noticeable at a climb.
This morning, it starts right off but revs up to 3000 rpm then stalls. Is this a symptom of something known?

Best regards.

Probably the FIP is not back on correctly.

No FIP has been taken apart.
This fip was working last time it ran.

I, as always, followed installation procedure as per rave.

Could it be a fault in the crankshaft sensor.
The one that reads the pins in the flywheel.
Mine got disconnected, and that's sort of what it did.

update,

Got back home in "my" borrowed Vespa, and here is what I found out.
:drum:

Start engine with full throttle and revs "only" go to 3000 rpm, hold the pedal down, let it heat up, and slowly holding back on the throttle.
After heating up for a while, I was able to get back the throttle all together.

This is the idle that it ends up doing.

After a short drive, I noticed low engine power. Revs won't pass 3000rpm and when going uphill I need to shift down do continue. It even misfires a bit at this point.

Well, at least I can leap to work tomorow.
