Hi all
I did post a year or so ago,but nobody could really help, so i didnt run with it..

My other car has the all singing all dancing Clifford G4, With remote start and Proximity Zone, toys etc..

I was wondering if anybodys fitted anything similar to a P38 before? Cant get my head around how youd get on with the exsisting factory alarm? And the key syncing with the immobiliser etc...
Have asked a few Alarm Shops,but cant get a straight anwser.

Anybody?

Have a look over at the RangeRovers.net forum, there have been a few discussions about this before. General feeling in the end is to just leave the whole thing well alone, the alarm system and immobiliser is already a bit of a temperamental setup and trying to add remote start systems etc just wont go down well with it. Especially since the car has to have the key in to de-activate the immobiliser as you say.

Not only this but Im sure Ive seen somewhere online that the alarm actually conforms to Thatcham catergory 1 standards. I shall have to try and dig out the link.

I would leave well alone, why would you want remote start though??

Hmmm, suppose its just a toy to go wrong....
Not too sure on the Thatcham as my Insurance insists on a Thatcham Approved Alarm/Immobiliser is added?

Have spoke to a Alarm fitter today,who states an aftermarket remote start etc can be added,,,But he will require a blank key too..

Im guessing he is gonna fit my exsisting transmitter inside the steering coloum shroud somehow?so the frequency bit works? And the additional plain blank to operate the alarm?
